Place the Abbot on a monastery or garden. You can remove it on your turn to score points equal to the tiles in its surrounding 3x3 area.

Big Follower

Place the Builder on a road or castle you control. Whenever you extend that feature, you immediately take another tile placement turn.

It's just you vs them. Every point you stop them from getting is same as getting a point yourself.

Two Players

Carcassonne base game has 72 tiles. Some tiles are rare, some are more common. Knowing tile distribution and tiles left in the deck helps you win.

If you know certain tiles are gone, you can safely give up on things that can't be finished. You can also block things that are impossible to complete.

If you can't score points, mess up their plans. Put tiles that make it impossible for them to finish their cities or roads. This traps their followers and stops them from scoring.

Blocking Enemy Features

Followers are limited, you only get 7 of them. Use them wisely.

Follower Management

When someone builds a larger city, try to merge with it. This lets you share points (or even steal them).

Use a 3-edge or 4-edge city tiles to sabotage an opponent's city, so it has more open edges.
